Tried it so you don’t have to!
The breakfast was lovely , and the kids' playroom looked delightful. The pool also added a nice touch to our stay.
The room was extremely cramped, with a noisy night from outside traffic. The parking situation was quite inconvenient as well.

The kids loved Merrill's kids club with fun activities in the evenings, and it was great for our precious dog as the hotel is pet-friendly. We enjoyed the leisure facilities, which added a nice touch to our family getaway.
My wife says that the cleanliness was terrible.

missingWrote a review on Jun 27clean sheetscomfortable bedsgreat locationdated roomnoisy environmentpoor breakfast service
I stayed in a Triple Room at The Royal and found some aspects enjoyable. The bed was comfortable enough, and the sheets were clean, which is always a plus. the room itself felt quite dated and cramped, with the third floor’s single-glazed windows letting in a lot of noise from outside. I had to pull the curtains closed but discovered dirty socks left by a previous guest, which made me question the cleanliness. The plumbing definitely needs attention, as I could hear a running tap from down the hall. I didn’t experience a good night's sleep due to the banging radiators and loud noise from the corridors. The breakfast didn’t meet expectations either. it was cold and unappetizing by the time we got to it. I had to dig through a stack of plates to find a clean one, which wasn’t ideal. The service during breakfast was lacking, with little attention given to our needs. I also had difficulty with parking, as spaces were quite limited and only a few spots were available for a fee. It was a hassle having to walk through the bar just to get to reception for the necessary parking slip.
